What is the AAU?

Whenever I read aboutcollegemen's basketball recruits, it always talks about how they played on their AAU team. What exactly is the AAU? And why is it a big deal for recruiting incollegebasketball?

What is the AAU?college

its a league in the fall spring and summer for players who want to get noticed by colleges and/or improve their game while playing at a high level. You have to tryout for a team that is in your area and then after you make it the team goes around to different tournaments and can make nationals if they do well in a regional qualifier(a specific type of tournament where u can qualify for nationals which are in orlando and las vegas during the summer). its a big deal for recruiting cuz it gives colleges another chance to see someone play cuz the high school season is short.

What is the AAU?nba odds ,nba teams

AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) is a state/national east coast team. I have played for two AAU teams, and person I have played with has gone very far in their basketball career... before high school even started. The teams are handpicked by the coach, and every year there is the nationals in Florida. It is an all year round team. I've seen 7 year old AAU teams, through 17.
It's a league to discover new talents and provide a good fun to the teenagers around the USA.

It's a amazing initiative. It's for high school players and others too.

I never played at AAU yet, but I few months I will be there.

I think you should try it if you like to play or something...

Thanks

Eddie.
